Magical Leaders is a peer-led education programme for 5th and 6th-class students, developed by Zeeko Education and supported by Enterprise Ireland. This innovative digital learning experience helps to teach and nurture 21st-century skills engagingly and interactively. Developed by educational specialists and teachers, Magical Leaders complements and enriches the new primary school curriculum by developing transferable skills to help your students and children deal with our ever-changing and unpredictable modern world. The Magical Leaders programme was developed from the philosophy of teaching students HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
The 21st Century Skills typically include critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy. Here are some ways the Magical Leaders programme aids in teaching 21st-century skills and, in turn, enhances the new primary school curriculum.
Project-Based Learning (PBL): The programme incorporates project-based learning, where students work on a self-guided, peer-led project. This helps them develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Technology Integration: Digital literacy is essential in today’s world. The use of technology in this programme indirectly teaches students to use technology and the internet safely and for educational purposes while having fun.
Collaborative Learning: The Magical Leaders Programme involves working in groups to complete various tasks and navigate the virtual world. This teamwork helps students develop interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
Critical Thinking Exercises: The programme was formed to promote critical thinking. Students are encouraged to analyse information, evaluate evidence, and make informed decisions.
