What is the Wall-Mounted Unlocking Device?
A wall-mounted unlocking station designed to work with Zeeko’s signal-blocking phone pouches. Students deposit their phones in the pouches at start of school or during lessons; when the day ends (or at a designated time), they present the pouch to the wall-mounted device and it releases/unlocks the pouch quickly.

Caretakers installing the device should refer to this unlocking device guide, and principals/teachers choosing locations that keep dismissal safe and fast.
Before you start: plan for safety and flow
- Pick well-lit, supervised, obstruction-free spots away from pinch-points.
- Mount on a stable surface, at comfortable tap-and-go height, ca. 150cm.
- Keep clear of magnetic-sensitive items; add Strong magnet signage.

- Locate adjacent to main exits, not inside the doorway.
- When mounting unlocking device's in school corridors, create one-way lanes with tape or barriers to prevent crowding.
- Spread Zeeko unlocking devices across multiple exits/floors so year groups depart in parallel.
- Place wayfinding signs 5–10 metres before each device.
- Assign a staff steward per station at dismissal.

Fix the unit using suitable screws and wall plugs; check it is secure and level.

Test by presenting a pouch to confirm smooth release.
Set the new code and store the emergency key securely.

Safety essentials

- Strong magnet: keep away from pacemakers/Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICD), cards and unshielded electronics.
- Pinch hazard: keep hands clear of the contact zone.
- Store the device and any handheld magnets in staff-only areas when not supervised.

Fast-exit routine (operational playbook)
Bell rings → pupils move to the nearest station.
Tap, release, go: pouch unlocked, student exits immediately.

Steward keeps the line moving and supports anyone who needs help.
Keep a spare handheld device at the door for contingencies.

Wipe with a dry cloth; avoid solvents.
Monthly quick test for smooth operation; report issues early.

If release is weak, re-present the pouch square to the device and check wall fixing.

What types of walls or surfaces are suitable for mounting the unlocking device?
The device can be mounted on solid, flat surfaces such as concrete, brick, or sturdy drywall. Avoid weak or uneven surfaces.
How far from doors/exits should the device be placed?
Place it close enough for easy access but with sufficient clearance to avoid interference with door operation, typically 30–50 cm from the door frame.
Does the device require electrical power or wiring?
No — the standard Zeeko unlocking device is battery-powered and does not require external wiring.
What clearance is needed around the device?
Ensure at least 15–20 cm of free space on all sides to allow unobstructed use and maintenance.
What is the recommended height for installation?
Mount the device at a height of 120–140 cm from the floor for convenient reach by students and staff.

Yes — multiple devices can be installed for larger areas or multiple entry points to ensure accessibility and convenience.
