Irish EdTech Company Signs Agreement with Vietnam’s Institute for Education Technology - Zeeko to trial Magical Leaders programme for students in 5 schools in Hanoi

Dublin, Ireland, 21 October 2022, Zeeko, the Irish EdTech company, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Vietnam’s Institute for Education Technology to trial an EdTech programme for students.

The company will shortly commence trials of its Magical Leaders, a peer-led software-enabled entrepreneurship programme, to primary school students in 5 public schools in Hanoi.

The programme focus is to enable the students to develop their communication skills, emotional self-regulation, teamwork, creative problem solving and critical thinking skills. Magical Leaders, a game-like interactive programme, enables schools to engage with every student with minimal teacher training and measurable learning outcomes.

In parallel to the trials Zeeko and the Institute for Education Technology will measure and analyze the learning outcomes from the trials and the expected associated increase in self-confidence of the participating students.

Zeeko’s Magical Leaders programmes are designed in Ireland and are used annually by over 7,000 students in Ireland, across Europe and in Southeast Asia. Zeeko, a NovaUCD client company, has developed the Magical Leaders programme with funding support from Enterprise Ireland.

Joe Kenny, CEO and founder, Zeeko said, “We are delighted to have signed this agreement with the Institute for Education Technology in Vietnam and now look forward to commencing trials of the Magical Leaders programme to schools in Hanoi.”

He added, “This innovative digital learning experience helps to teach and nurture 21st century skills in an engaging and interactive way. As the programme has been developed by educational specialists and teachers, it complements and enriches the new Vietnamese school curriculum by focusing on developing transferable skills that will help students deal with an ever-changing and unpredictable world.”

He concluded, “We hope, following the successful completion of the trials in Hanoi, to deliver this programme across Vietnam.”

Binh Thanh Ho, Vice-President, Institute for Education Technology, Vietnam, said, “We are very happy to be working with Zeeko to bring their innovative training programme to schools across Vietnam which will have a transformative impact on the lives of young people.”

Leo Clancy, CEO, Enterprise Ireland, said, “I am delighted that Zeeko has signed an agreement with Vietnam’s Institute for Education Technology to trial its Magical Leaders programme with local students. Through the Magical Leaders programme, which is supported with Enterprise Ireland funding, Zeeko is focused on empowering the next generation of employees, entrepreneurs, and leaders by developing an entrepreneurial competency not only in Ireland but also now in Vietnam and I wish the trial every success."

Zeeko worked with European market access firm CETA Consulting to identify the ideal partner institution in Vietnam.
