Zeeko Background
Zeeko is an Irish education technology company based in NovaUCD, University College Dublin’s Innovation Centre. Its mission is to create a world where young people can safely benefit from the Internet and technology. Since 2013 and with backing from Enterprise Ireland, Zeeko has developed cutting-edge programmes and tools that promote digital safety, wellbeing, and independent thinking—teaching students how to think, not what to think.
Zeeko delivers Internet safety training to children, teachers, and parents across Ireland. Its Magical Leaders Programme, also funded by Enterprise Ireland, teaches entrepreneurship and digital skills in primary schools. The programme was translated into Vietnamese and successfully delivered in Vietnam, demonstrating its adaptability and global reach.
In partnership with University College Dublin’s Computer Science Department, Zeeko leads research projects—including an explainable AI study that predicts cyberbullying risk from over 67,000 surveys, and a peer-led learning study linked to the Magical Leaders Programme. Zeeko also offers a free Digital Trend Report, to help schools understand pupils’ device usage, online behaviour, and emerging digital risks across Ireland.
Zeeko has also developed the Zeeko Phone Blocking Pouch (Patent Pending)—the only certified fire‑resistant signal‑blocking pouch on the market. Supported by the Zeeko Safe Lock System and Zeeko Done4U service, the pouch enables schools to create focused, safe, and phone-free learning environments.
