Zeeko Internet Safety

Zeeko has delivered internet safety training to over 100,000 students, parents, and teachers in 873 schools across all 26 counties in Ireland. Their workshops focus on responsible digital behaviour, critical thinking, and online wellbeing. Zeeko empowers school communities with practical tools to navigate the online world safely and confidently.

Empowering Schools with Real-Time Digital Insights

Zeeko’s Digital Trend Report is a free service for schools, built on insights from over 102,484 surveys in primary and secondary schools across Ireland. It empowers school communities with localised data on online behaviours and risks—such as screen time and cyberbullying—raising awareness among students, teachers, and parents to support safer digital habits.

The Magical Leaders Programme

Zeeko Education – Part of the Youth Leadership Programme in Hoi An, UNESCO World Heritage City.

The Magical Leaders Programme of Zeeko Education was implemented in Hoi An, Vietnam, under the project “Promoting Youth and Community Innovation for City Sustainable Development,” funded by Fondation Botnar and led by UN-Habitat.

Delivered by WeMaster Creative Education and Hoi An life, with support from the CGD Institute and CETA Consulting, the programme introduced an innovative peer-teaching model that empowers youth through teamwork, dialogue, and experiential learning.

Through training sessions, participants developed global citizenship thinking rooted in local heritage, together with project management and communication skills. They then applied these skills by presenting community innovation projects that contributed to inclusive and people-centered urban development in Hoi An, while also laying the foundation for a sustainable Young Leaders Club to continue fostering innovation and community-driven change.

Pioneering Research for Safer, Smarter Digital Futures

Zeeko, in collaboration with Dr Aidan Murphy, Dr Anthony Ventresque, and Dr Marina Everri (University College Dublin), and Dr John Meegan (Hibernia College), has led groundbreaking research to enhance digital education and online safety. One major study used explainable AI to predict cyberbullying risk with 84.3% accuracy, based on over 67,000 student surveys. Research on Zeeko’s Magical Leaders programme explored how group dynamics and preparation influence the success of peer-led learning. A project on integrating 21st-century skills—communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking—into classrooms showed strong outcomes, led in partnership with Dr Meegan. Zeeko also investigated how regional Irish accents affect spelling, supporting the development of accent-adapted spellcheckers. In virtual learning, LERO-funded research showed that childlike avatars improve engagement in VR environments. Zeeko also created S-capade, a LERO-supported phonetic spellchecker that outperforms conventional tools. The Digital Trend Report, funded by EU Horizon 2020, analysed the online behaviours of 35,000+ students across Ireland. Finally, Science Foundation Ireland-funded research evaluated the educational and health implications of VR, helping shape safer practices for schools and families.
